Paintings of B R Bodade reflects the life and dreams of the people on the streets of central ladies village and towns indeed. It is only in our country that people share their space with animals and birds in a manner quite distinct from of the west. Here cows dogs crows and birds not only share the ground with the sleepers on the pavements but they share a discourse with them reminding one of Aesop’s fables and also of the fact that Aesop was an Indian. In a number of his works one can see how the man-animal continuity highlighted by the flowing lines interlinking his figures is very much a part of the daily life around us even today.
