Born in 1969, Bratin obtained a BFA degree from Visva Bharati Shantiniketan in 1993. He won the Annual Merit Award given by Visva Bharati in 1991, 92, 93 and the award for Best Painting given by the Indian Society of Oriental Art and Culture in 1992. There have been several shows of Bratin’s paintings, at Habiart Foundation, New Delhi in 2004, Arushi Arts, New Delhi in 2003, Rightlines Art Gallery, Bangalore in 2002 and 1999 Classic Source, Mumbai in 2001 and Grindlays Bank Art Gallery , Kolkata in 1993.
