Mustakh Khan was born in 1964, at the age of 16 he decided to become an artist. Influenced by Mr Ajmal, a Dhaka-based artist, Mustak began his career as an artist. He completed his MFA from Santiniketan and became one of the renowned artists. Paintings with emotional overtones and figurative themes are his speciality. According to Mr Chowdhury, 'Art has to be expressed. Art aesthetics has to be explained to people. Especially in wood paintings the tone variation texture and the differences one can observe and see. Arts and cultural heritage also deserve to be promoted all around the world. Western and Indian art culture is also equally important in today's time.'

He has done numerous exhibitions of his art in Bangalore, Kolkata, and Art Heritage, New Delhi and has also taken part in group exhibitions in Dubai, the UK, and India. His works are held in numerous private collections in India and overseas, as well as the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi.
